We wanted to find something that showed something really powerful. Something that shows how Port Aransas and the Gulf is still being thought about. I came across this article from the GuttenbergPress.com, where you see a group of 29 Teens from Wisconsin came to give back.

A 22 hour drive and a life changing experience later, Corrine Martin writes:

“Hard work, compassion, community donations and prayers once again came together to make another Prairie du Chien JWalkers mission trip possible. The teenage group of 29 kids, including two from Mosinee, traveled 22 hours by bus to Corpus Christi, Texas. They spent a week in early June helping 15 homeowners who remain impacted by Hurricane Harvey devastation 10 months later.”

Mary Stoeffler told the paper :

“The town is literally 7 miles long by 3 miles wide,” Stoeffler pointed out about the Fishing Capital of Texas. “They already got (government) funding, yet so many of the people are still in really rough situations.”

Many of our staff have participated in trips such as these and we love to see the help coming full circle. The Island is seeing rebirth and growth, and we can not wait to see where we go from here! We are a strong community, but love to see the helping hands of our neighbors close and far away.
